Moderation in different aspects of life – Financial life
People are more inclined towards worldly belongings and they compete among themselves to get the most out of it. Although its not forbidden to have them but a lust for them will develop materialistic attitude among masses, hence Allah has admonishingly commented about not running after them and instead prioritizing the Life Hereafter.
On the other hand, there are people who adhere to other extremism i.e. shunning the worldly life and living monastic life which is not recommended by Lords and those who practiced it could not stick to it and has gone astray.
Quran has asked us to seek the bounties of both the world by giving each the due which is justifiable.
Story of the Minister of Moses (Qaroon) is the best example who was given the most abundant of wealth which made him proud. He was admonished to not forget the dues of the needy
ones. The wisdom of Spending (spendthrifts and misers)
When people get wealth they think that they are the owners of it and can spend as they will. Allah has set the guidelines to maintain moderation between spendthrifts and misery.
Those who are spendthrifts are compared to the brothers of Devil as they set the tone of imbalance in the society by raising the spending threshold and others knowingly or unknowingly follow the artificial bench mark which ultimately ruins the society.
