📌 20 Types of Hearts in Quran Series – Part 3📌

Various types of heart depending upon different characters of the persons are mentioned in Quran; we will be mentioning about four of them.

📍 Guilty Hearts: These types of heart are of those who make mockery of the message of Prophets. Instead of seeking admonitions and guidance they make fun of them. when the admonition enters into the hearts of the believers it gives them peace of mind and comfort of heart. But when the same enters into the hearts of the criminals it becomes a hot rod and burns their minds and hearts.

And whenever a Messenger came to them, they never failed to mock him. (11) Even so We make a way for it (that is, the Admonition) in the hearts of the culprits (like a hot rod); (15:12).

📍 Rusted Hearts: These are people who denies the divine message and when the prophets narrate before them the chapters of previous nations who fell astray they respond that they are old folk tales. their hearts have become rusty because of their sins; therefore, a thing which is thoroughly reasonable appears unreal and unreasonable to them. The explanation of this rust as given by the Holy Prophet (upon whom be peace) is as follows: "When a servant commits a sin, it marks a black stain on his heart. If he offers repentance, the stain is washed off, but if he persists in wrongdoing. it spreads over the whole heart." (Musnad Ahmad, Tirmidhi, Nasa'i, Ibn Majah, Ibn Jarir, Hakim, Ibn Abi Hatim, Ibn Hibban and others) .

No indeed! The truth is that their hearts have become rusted on account of their evil deeds. (83:14)

📍 Sinful Hearts: Allah has ordered all to stand up for justice and say the right thing in a right way. Some people has habit of hiding the facts and not saying the truthful things when it is needed. Those are condemned as sinful hearts; when society has majority of them then they are destined for collapse.

And never conceal evidence for he who conceals it, has a sinful heart: Allah knows everything that you do. (2:283)

📍 Mischievous Hearts: Quran has two types of verses. Muhkam means that which has been made firmly and perfectly. The muhkam verses mentioned here are those Qur'anic verses which are embodied in clear and lucid language and whose meaning is not liable to any ambiguity and equivocation. The words of these verses are clear pointers to their true meaning and, therefore, it is difficult to subject them to arbitrary interpretation. Such verses form the core of the Holy Book;

Ambiguous' verses are those whose meaning may have some degree of equivocation. It is obvious that no way of life can be prescribed for man unless a certain amount of knowledge explaining the truth about the universe, about its origin and end, about man's position in it etc.

Some hearts always has perversity; Inspite of knowing the clear and right path they tend to move on ambiguous way; They try to give complicated and deceitful meanings to certain things which are not useful for the mankind. They will concentrate their attention instead on the clear and lucid 'core' verses of the Qur'an. It will be left to those who are either out to make mischief and mislead people

Those in whose hearts there is perversity, always go about the part which is ambiguous, seeking mischief and seeking to arrive at its meaning arbitrarily, although none knows their true meaning except Allah. (3:7)
