 (Types of Heart Part 2)

Heart is the Epicentre of Iman & Kufr (Belief & disbelief); Sincerity & Hypocrisy; compassion & kindlessness; Love & Hatred.

Its depend on us on what values, believes, characters we inculcate and develop in our hearts.

📍 Regarding Iman & Kufr (Belief & disbelief) Quran says that for true believers, their heart will filled with Iman. They develop liking for the things which are obligated by Allah and strong disliking for the things which are prohibited by Him. Even for a moment they never think against it; and never felt any liking for unbelief, evils and disobedience.

﴿وَلٰکِنَّ اللّٰہَ حَبَّبَ اِلَیْکُمُ الْاِیْمَانَ وَزَیَّنَہٗ فِیْ قُلُوْبِکُمْ وَکَرَّہَ اِلَیْکُمُ الْکُفْرَ  وَالْفُسُوْقَ وَالْعِصْیَانَ اُولٰٓئِکَ ھُمُ الرّٰشِدُوْنَ﴾  

  لیکن اللہ تعالیٰ نے تمہارے دلوں میں ایمان کو محبوب بنا دیا ہے اور کفر وفسق وسرکشی کو مبغوض بنا دیا ہے اور یہی لوگ ہدایت یافتہ ہیں۔ (سورہ حجرات:۷7)

Allah has endeared faith to you and has embellished it in your hearts and has made unbelief and evil-doing and disobedience abhorrent to you. Such are those who are rightly guided, (49:7)

📍 Sincerity & Hypocrisy: Prophet Mohammed pbuh has said that all the deeds are judged by Allah based on sincere intentions.

’إنما الأعمال بالنیات  ]صحیح البخاری[

اعمال کا دار ومدار نیتوں پر ہے

Basis of deeds is on sincere intentions (Bukhari)

Similarly, for people inspite of being namesake Muslims, they keep on breaking the covenant of Allah and destroy them. Those who fall Astray, Hypocrisy cultivates in their hearts as Quran says:

فَاَعْقَبَھُمْ نِفَاقًا فِیْ قُلُوبِھِمْ اِلیٰ یَوْمِ یَلقونَہٗ بِمَآ اَخْلَفُوا اللّٰہَ مَا وَعَدُوْہُ وَ بِمَا کَا نُوْا یَکْذِبُوْنَ ﴾

  بس اس کی سزا میں اللہ تعالیٰ نے ان کے دلوں میں نفاق ڈال دیا اللہ سے ملنے کے دنوں تک کیونکہ انھوں نے اللہ سے کئے ہوئے وعدے کے خلاف کیا اور کیونکہ جھوٹ بولتے رہے۔ (توبہ!۷۷)

So He caused hypocrisy to take root in their hearts and to remain therein until the Day they meet Him because they broke their promise with Allah and because they lied

📍 Compassion vs Hard Heart

Nature of being compassionate or Hard hearted is also related to heart. Prophet Mohammed has been praised by Allah that the core reason for him being loved by all is his nature of compassion and affection towards the mankind. Had he not been kind hearted then all his companion would have left him. But it has been noted that Muslims preferred their prophet highest among all their relations. Quran says:

فَبِمَا رَحْمَۃٍ مِّنَ ا للّٰہِ لِنْتَ لَھُمْ وَلَوْ کُنْتَ  فَظًّا غَلِیْظَ الْقَلْبِ لَا اَنْفَضُّوْْ ا مِنْ حَوْلِکَ﴾. (سورہ آل عمران: ١۵۹)۔

اللہ تعالیٰ کی رحمت کے باعث آپ ان پر نرم دل ہیں اور اگر آپ بدزبان اور سخت دل ہوتے تو یہ سب آپ کے پاس سے چھوٹ جاتے ۔

It was thanks to Allah's mercy that you were gentle to them. Had you been rough, hard-hearted, they would surely have scattered away from you. 3:159

📍 Love vs Hatred is also based in our heart. Some people are liked by majority whereas some are hated due to their characters. Similarly the feeling of love and affection among muslims is highly regarding as is been counted as one blessings of Allah. Quran says:

وَاَ لَّفَ بَیْنَ قُلُوْبِہِمْ لَوْ اَنْفَقْتَ مَا فِی الْاَرْضِ جَمِیْعًا مَّآ اَ لَّفْتَ بَیْنَ قُلُوْبِہِم  وَلٰکِنَّ اللّٰہَ اَلَّفَ بَیْنَہُم  اِنَّہٗ عَزِ یْزُٗحَکِیْمُٗ ﴾ (الانفال:63)

ان کے دلوں میں باہمی الفت بھی انھوں نے ڈالی ہے زمین میں جو کچھ ہے تو اگر سارا کا سارا بھی خرچ کر ڈالے تو بھی ان کے دل آپس میں نہ ملا سکتا یہ تو اللہ ہی نے ان میں الفت ڈالی دی ہے وہ غالب حکمتوں والا ہے۔

Allah Has joined their hearts. Had you given away all the riches of the earth you could not have joined their hearts, but it is Allah Who joined their hearts. Indeed He is All-Mighty. All-Wise. (8:63)

 

📍 Hypocrites’ hearts are divided though they act united in front of world. Quran clarifies their status

لَا يُقَاتِلُونَكُمْ جَمِيعًا إِلَّا فِي قُرًى مُّحَصَّنَةٍ أَوْ مِن وَرَاءِ جُدُرٍ ۚ بَأْسُهُم بَيْنَهُمْ شَدِيدٌ ۚ تَحْسَبُهُمْ جَمِيعًا وَقُلُوبُهُمْ شَتَّىٰ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَوْمٌ لَّا يَعْقِلُونَ ‎﴿١٤﴾‏ 

u  They will never fight against you as a body (in an open battlefield); and if they fight against you they will fight only in fortified townships or from behind walls. Intense is their hostility to one another. You reckon them united while their hearts are divided. That is because they are a people devoid of reason. (59:14)

یہ کبھی اکٹھے ہو کر (کھلے میدان میں) تمہارا مقابلہ نہ کریں گے، لڑیں گے بھی تو قلعہ بند بستیوں میں بیٹھ کر یا دیواروں کے پیچھے چھپ کر یہ آپس کی مخالفت میں بڑے سخت ہیں تم اِنہیں اکٹھا سمجھتے ہو مگر ان کے دل ایک دوسرے سے پھٹے ہوئے ہیں اِن کا یہ حال اِس لیے ہے کہ یہ بے عقل لوگ ہیں

Hence let’s keep our heart clean and strong because whatever feeded to heart makes our personality and character.
