8. Learn
Self Control In Ramadan
Ramadan is a special time for Muslims around the world, as
it is a month of fasting and spiritual reflection. During this time, it is
important to learn self-control to make the most of the spiritual benefits of
the month. Here are some tips to help you learn self-control during Ramadan:
Set your intention: Before the start of Ramadan, it is
important to set your intention and make a commitment to observe the fast with
sincerity and to gain control on our Nafs (Soul) for the entire month. This
will help you stay focused and motivated throughout the month.
Understand Objectives: The whole concept of worship in
Ramadan is to make you do things which are not normal in daily routine, Like
·
Getting up one hour before
Dawn and pray Tahajjud (Night Prayers),
·
Eating Suhoor (Early pre-dawn
meal) in the morning hours,
·
Abstaining from meals throughout
the day,
·
Keeping oneself away from
getting intimate with spouses,
·
Eating breakfast at sunset,
·
Offer Taraweeh prayers in
the night when we plan to relax.
Be patient: Learning self-control takes time and patience.
Be kind and compassionate with yourself and remember that it is a journey.
By implementing these tips, you can learn self-control
during Ramadan and make the most of the spiritual benefits of the month.
May Allah help us in getting better control of our Nafs. Aameen
