Position of Man in this universe (Abdullah & Khalifatullah)
Humans has been bestowed with dual roles in his life. one
being slave of Allah and other as vicegerent of Allah.
Our role as Servant of Allah as Quran says:
•
• I created the jinn and humans
for nothing else but that they may serve Me; (51:56)
The basic purpose of our creation is to follow the
directions of our Creator and keep following his commandment. This worship is
not just for performing some rituals, but it has to be consciously followed
thru out our lives.
All the creatures in the world do worship Almighty, to keep
us also in harmony to them we also should keep praising the lord.
•
• The seven heavens, the earth,
and all that is within them give glory to Him. There is nothing but gives glory
to Him with His praise, though you do not understand their hymns of praise. He
is Most Forbearing, Exceedingly Forgiving." (44)
Similarly, as the humans are termed as the best of
creatures, has been assigned special role of being the vicegerent of Allah in
the universe. He has to follow the commandments of lord and ensure that entire
universe live in harmony with the Allah’s command.
•
•
For He it is Who has appointed you vicegerent over the
earth and has exalted some of you over others in rank that He may try you in
what He has bestowed is upon you. (6:165)
Muslims has been obligated to enjoin good and forbid evil wherever
they are given authority.
•
•
(Allah will
certainly help) those who, were We to bestow authority on them in the land,
will establish Prayers, render Zakah, enjoin good, and forbid evil. The end of
all matters rests with Allah. (22:41)
•
• Allah has promised to those among you who believe and
do righteous deeds, that He will make them successors in the land just as He
made those who passed away before them, and that He will establish their
religion, which He has approved for them, on strong foundations and will change
their (present) state of fear into peace and security. Let them worship Me and
associate none with Me; and the one who disbelieves after this," shall be
of those who are perverse transgressors. (24:55)
Most of the mankind forget their position in dual role. Common
religious minded people often feel that by practicing Ibadah, we are fulfilling
our duty, where as those who have powers forget that they are asked to be
submissive towards Allah and remain grounded.
May Allah give us the guidance to understand our obligations
and lead our life in a way that Allah is pleased with us.
