•         يٰبَنِىۡۤ اٰدَمَ قَدۡ اَنۡزَلۡنَا عَلَيۡكُمۡ لِبَاسًا يُّوَارِىۡ سَوۡاٰتِكُمۡ وَرِيۡشًا‌ ؕ وَلِبَاسُ التَّقۡوٰى ۙ ذٰ لِكَ خَيۡرٌ‌ ؕ ذٰ لِكَ مِنۡ اٰيٰتِ اللّٰهِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَذَّكَّرُوۡنَ ۞

•       اے اولاد آدم، ہم نے تم پر لباس نازل کیا ہے کہ تمہارے جسم کے قابل شرم حصوں کو ڈھانکے اور تمہارے لیے جسم کی حفاظت اور زینت کا ذریعہ بھی ہو، اور بہترین لباس تقویٰ کا لباس ہے یہ اللہ کی نشانیوں میں سے ایک نشانی ہے، شاید کہ لوگ اس سے سبق لیں

•       O Children of Adam! Indeed We have sent down to you a garment which covers your shame and provides protection and adornment. But the finest of all is the garment of piety. That is one of the signs of Allah so that they may take heed. [7:26]

 

Allah mentioned that clothes descended from Heavens, it means the cloth material cotton, wool etc are made after it rains, plant & animals grows, from where the basic clothing materials are derived. Allah sent down the blessing to protects the severity from cold and heat, protects from war, and provides human dignity and beauty.

The main purpose of clothing is to conceal private areas. Authenticating beautification rejects Monasticism.   Arabs and some other nations thought clothing is excessive wish created by man. They used to bath naked in public, defecate in public places, and circumambulation around the Kaaba naked was good religious act. Islam has corrected this wrong belief of self annihilation.

Islam has given principal teachings about the dress code.

Outer clothing should be modest, not skintight & revealing, showing proud & extravagant. A woman should not wear man clothing, a man should not wear a woman's dress, should not impersonate another nation, which is a symbol of betrayal of his nation.

Garment of piety which is liked by our creator is made of piety, modesty, fear of God, and a sense of obedience. which makes it dignified and beautiful. Whoever see it, say! He looks like an angel, not a human.

A man should remember, Satan's first attack was in the form of removing Adamع Hawaع clothing. Even today, the wicked people are constantly striving to destroy Islam through fashion, trends, films, education, and the media for the destruction of humanity.

Man's private parts are from the navel to the knees, and it is to be hidden. The whole body of a woman is to be hidden.

The Prophet ﷺ said وَنِسَاءٌ كَاسِيَاتٌ عَارِيَاتٌ مُمِيلَاتٌ مَائِلَاتٌ  رُءُوسُهُنَّ كَأَسْنِمَةِ الْبُخْتِ الْمَائِلَةِ، لَا يَدْخُلْنَ الْجَنَّةَ، وَلَا يَجِدْنَ رِيحَهَا، وَإِنَّ رِيحَهَا لَيُوجَدُ مِنْ مَسِيرَةِ كَذَا وَكَذَا  women who are naked even after wearing clothes, they will not even be able to get the air of Paradise when the air of Paradise can be felt from a distance of 500 years. (Muslim)

Hazrat Umar R.A. says that Prophet PBUH should tell whoever wears a new dress and say: All praise is due to Allah who clothed me with this garment which hides my body and with which I gain adornment.

One who gives the old dress to poor Allah will protect him in his life and death.(Musnad Ahmed)
