• Children of Israel! Recall My favour which I had bestowed on you, and
fulfil your covenant with Me and I shall fulfil My covenant with you, and fear
Me alone. [2:40]
Bani israel (Jews) are the people who stood
against the dawat e islami in Madina Munnawara and opposed him in every way,
visible and hidden, and plotted against him. They were constantly involved in
conspiracies. Islam, when it started to popularize in Madinah, and it became
clear to the Jews that Islam was going to occupy the bed of Madinah and the
moral and economic leadership and leadership of
Madina. They thought that they were being overthrown. The situation of
Madina at that time was that Islam had made Aws and Khazraj into its influence,
it had closed all the channels through which the Jews had opportunities to
influence Aws and Khazraj, and the society. Therefore, a moving code of life
was formulated, which was based on a new book! As a result of all this, the
opportunities for leadership and leadership in Medina had ended for the Jews.
So the Jews were engaged in continuous conspiracies against Islam, the series
of which did not end even for a moment. And the fire has not been extinguished
until this moment! The forms of this war kept changing but the real war
remained in every era and its nature remained the same! During this long
period, Jews were being pushed from one side to another and from one nation to
another throughout the world. For them, there was no one who showed mercy
anywhere. It was muslims, the source of peace and harmony and who did not
torture and did not make conspiracies . This Islamic world was the only refuge
of the Jews in the entire Islamic world. Despite this great favor, the hostile
world of Jews made a disagreeable approach against Islam and Muslims.
Apparently, it was expected that the Jews religion would be the first and foremost to
believe in the Prophethood and the new Messenger. The reason was -Torah as a
whole! The Jews themselves were waiting for the prophethood of this prophet and
the attributes of this prophet were described in the gospels that were in their
holy books and they were aware of them as used to! But when the new promise
came, anti-Jewish expectation, they are the one who opposed first and started
conspiracies.
Description
Allah reminds them of His favor that He did to
them! He invites them to fulfill the covenant that they have made with God, so
that God fulfills the position of the
Jews in connection with the Qur'an and Islam and their disbelief and denial. In
the same way, he strongly criticizes that they are mixing the truth with
falsehood and hiding the truth. Create mischief and mischief in the ranks and
doubts in the hearts of those who enter islam.
The people who were directly addressed to the
invitation of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) consisted of three types.
(1) Quraysh, who was the Prophet's own family. (2) Aws and Khazraj of Madinah
(3) People of the Book, i.e. Bani Israel. Among them, this third group is Bani
Israel was the most important among these
three.
The meaning of Bani Israel and their religious
and official history is Israel is actually another name of Hazrat Yaqoob or his
title and Hazrat Yaqoob is the son of Hazrat Ishaq, the second son of Hazrat
Ibrahim. In Hebrew, Asr means "servant" and Eel means
"God". In this sense, Israel means "Abdullah or the servant of
God. Since the Israelites were the children of different sons of Hazrat Yaqoob,
they called themselves Bani Israel, i.e., the descendants of Yaqoob.
Bani Israel
were people who believed in monotheism of prophethood and the hereafter
and they also accepted the books revealed by Allah. But looking at the extent
of his misdeeds and daring to modify and distort the Book of Allah and then his
hostility towards those who call to the Book of Allah, it can be said that he
was at the limit of his time. There were corrupt Muslims who had nothing left
but the name of Islam. But they were proud of the fact that we have always had
a special place in the world and the rewards of Allah have been showered on us
in different periods. Addressing them
they have been reminded of their original place and position. And then
they have been invited that the requirement of your position is that you should first go ahead and accept
the invitation of Islam. Because there is nothing in the invitation of the Holy
Prophet (PBUH) that is foreign to you, he is not commanding anything that is
against the guidance of previous heavenly books.
Remember My blessings, which I have bestowed
upon you. Blessing is also a reward from Allah.
✍️But after that specifically saying that I have rewarded you. This
indicates a great error of the Israelites. The notions that corrupted the
Israelites and as a result their religious life became tainted.
They
regarded every blessing as a result of their merit and privilege.
As long
as a person considers the kindness of his benefactor as favors, then he has the
value and greatness of his benefactor in his heart. He has a passion to obey
him. But when he considers a favor as his right, then he refuses to consider
the benefactor as a benefactor, and the feelings arise as a result of
benevolence.
✍️ You fulfill my promise, I will fulfill your promise. In these two sentences, the Lord has also pointed to one of His
favors on the Children of Israel and has also reminded them of their
responsibilities. Both sentences are saying that Allah Ta'ala has taken a
covenant from Bani Israel and has made a covenant with them in return. The
covenant is always between two equal persons or two equal groups, or even if
there is a difference of rank between the parties, it is not so much that both
cannot engage in business conversation with each other. But if the parties are
such that there is a king on one side and a labourer on the other side or a
benefactor on one side and a hand extender on the other side. Or if there is a
ruler on one side and a subordinate on the other, there is never an agreement
between them. Yes, there is only one case that the king, benefactor or ruler
himself considers someone as a party and makes an agreement with him as a mere
gift and forgiveness that if you perform this service, we will grant you this.
While he is just one
Authorized to take all kinds of service by
order.
✍️"So fear me".
Certainly in fulfilling the promises made with
Allah will bring some difficulties .Of course, many concessions will have to be
given up.May the people rise up against you.Damage to the state. But remember
these things when compared to Allah will
be nothing.
If Allah is pleased, He can grant everything.
But if
When he becomes angry, all the states and
rulers, wealth and people's retreat will
not be able to save from Allah's wrath.
Therefore, you should be free from all kinds of
fear and but only Allah's.
