Immediate
Repentance

• He who
does either evil or wrongs himself, and then asks for the forgiveness of Allah,
will find Allah All-Forgiving, All-Compassionate. [4:110]
Word سوٓءٍ mean bad deed that
causes pain to others and minor sin
Word ظلم نفسه mean bad deed which
causes harm to oneself and also leads to great sin and polytheism.
🌱 In this verse, Allah
Almighty is describing His mercy to whoever commits a sin, whether it is a
minor sin or a major sin, even a tyrant oppressing others, wants to repent,
Allah Almighty forgives even a big sin like a mountain. God's court is open and
there is no gatekeeper on it. Whenever one repents, he will find God forgiving
and merciful.
🌱Basheer, a man from the
tribe of Banu Abraq stole an armour of Ansari Hazrat Arafa رض and kept it near a Jew, when hazrat abraq complained to prophet
ﷺ and it was almost near that the Prophet ﷺ would issue a decision against the Jew. Allah revealed the
whole truth. These type of situations occurs in life of judge, but this case
was during the time when there was a great conflict between Islam and Kufr. It
would have been a great moral strategy for the opponents that Islam support
injustice, while it preaches against it,
also Muslims were taught that prejudice should not interfere in the matter of
justice. To all those culprits Allah gave a big hope to repent from deep heart
and it is fact that Allah will forgive everyone.
🌱 In the Bani Israel,
when someone committed a sin, he would see an atonement written in natural
letters on his door until morning, which he had to pay, and if some drops of
urine felt on clothes then that part had to be cut off, but this is our good
fortune that it is made easier for ummah of prophet Muhammad ﷺthat
washing with water is purification of clothes and repentance is given
forgiveness.
🌴Ibn Abi Hatim رض narrates on the authority of Hazrat Ali رض that Hazrat Abu Bakr رض
said: I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying: Whoever
commits a sin, then gets up and performs ablution well. If he stands up to pray
and repents of his sin, then Allah will surely forgive him and recited this
verse.
