Blind path of Ancestors
There are people among masses who are just blind followers
of their ancestors, cult, Icons, traditions and culture etc. Most of the
traditions and cultures if it is not divine, often get corrupted over the period
of time. As these practices becomes norms, it is difficult to change or challenge
them. Blind followers resist the change being brought to their benefit.
Islam admonishes the people to think, ponder on basic facts
of the universe like
- · Who is the creator?
- · What are his powers, rights and duties?
- · What is the man’s position in the world?
- · Can there be multiple Gods to run the world?
- · What’s the end of this life?
- · How the Man will be held accountable for his deeds?
- · What will be the rewards for good and bad deeds?
People who don’t have a proper answer to the above questions
often try to desist the divine guidance and just stick with an excuse that they
found their ancestors on these path and belief.
Allah try to wake them up from this ignorance in order to
make them think about the real successful path to eternal life.

وَاِذَا قِيۡلَ لَهُمۡ
تَعَالَوۡا اِلٰى مَاۤ اَنۡزَلَ اللّٰهُ وَاِلَى الرَّسُوۡلِ قَالُوۡا حَسۡبُنَا
مَا وَجَدۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ اٰبَآءَنَا ؕ اَوَلَوۡ كَانَ اٰبَآؤُهُمۡ لَا
يَعۡلَمُوۡنَ شَيۡـئًـا وَّلَا يَهۡتَدُوۡنَ ۞

اور جب ان سے کہا جاتا ہے
کہ آؤ اُس قانون کی طرف جو اللہ نے نازل کیا ہے اور آؤ پیغمبرؐ کی طرف تو وہ جواب
دیتے ہیں کہ ہمارے لیے تو بس وہی طریقہ کافی ہے جس پر ہم نے اپنے باپ دادا کو پایا
ہے کیا یہ باپ دادا ہی کی تقلید کیے چلے جائیں گے خواہ وہ کچھ نہ جانتے ہوں اور
صحیح راستہ کی انہیں خبر ہی نہ ہو؟
• When they are asked: 'Come to what Allah has revealed, and come to the
Messenger', they reply: 'The way of our forefathers suffices us.' (Will they
continue to follow their forefathers) even though their forefathers might have
known nothing, and might have been on the wrong way? [5:104]
May Allah help us in seeking the right path Aameen.
